Triumph GT6 Mk3 barn find for restoration

In Stock

Triumph GT6 MK3 overdrive (Non rotoflex) registered in February 1973, owned by me since 1984 and partly restored in 1993 when it had new sills, wheel arches and a full respray. Barn find….Well I didn’t really have to find it because I parked it in my Dad’s garage in 2002. At the time it was mechanically good but rot had set in again and it wasn’t expected to pass the next MOT. I have kept it for all these years, one day I would put it back on the road but life and other projects etc. As you can see from the photographs it will require a full body restoration as sadly the garage wasn’t water tight. However the car is complete and totally original except for the stainless exhaust. In 2002 the coolant was drained and oil put down the bores. I moved it to my house in Bournemouth last week and after refilling the coolant, cleaning the plugs and carbs and connecting a temporary fuel supply the engine fired up and runs well. The value of these cars and their parts has greatly increased in recent years and I have already been offered £1,000 for the engine and gearbox and other people have shown interest in the registration and other parts. I think it’s worth saving so will start the bidding at £1,500 The trailer its parked on is not included in the sale but I would be willing to deliver within 50 miles of Bournemouth for an additional price (to be agreed with buyer). The car can be viewed in Bournemouth BH7.
